Coaches Corner...

Dear Coaches,

Thanks so much for taking on this great role.  The kids cannot play if we don't have people like you step forward to coach.  This is a really fun gig and should be enjoyed.  Most of us all have the ability to be good coaches so relax.  We have tried to compile a set of resources for you in this section.  We have links to the forms you need, info on equipment, instructions to set up your team webpage, and links to training resources.  If you don't see what you need let us know and we will try to help.
Coaches need to have an active RMA (Risk Management Application).  This should be part of your registration when you register to coach here.  The RMA is submitted to the WA State Patrol and is for the safety of the players.
We try to offer each year a chance for you to get your E Coaching license.  These courses teach you how to run a practice and a team.  We expect all coaches to get their E license by their 2nd year of coaching.  For coaches of select teams they need to have at least their D license.

Thank you and go enjoy your season,

Andrew Westmark
Club President

How practice fields are assigned
BYSC traditionally assigns practice fields starting with the oldest teams and working towards the younger teams.  Practice fields are not usually assigned for U7-U9 teams.

Be a Role Model
We want to always be exhibiting the best sportsmanship.  This includes all facets of the game from sharing practice space, to graceful winning and losing, to good stewardship of the fields and equipment.  Do not talk ill of the other coaches, players or referees--all of whom your players probably already know.

WSYSA Code of Ethics
Please take the time to review this important document. It contains information that you are required to know and abide by as a youth soccer coach!
