Swedish Hospital - Stretching and Injury Prevention

Learn about stretching and injury prevention from the experts at Swedish. Attend this seminar led by Dr. Jon McBride and Randy Gladwish PT, and learn how train your players to stretch to avoid injury. This session is exclusively for Ballard Youth Soccer coaches. Coaches should come dressed appropriately to participate in stretching demonstrations. Mandatory for all U11-15 teams and recommended for U10-18.

State E and D Licenses

SYSA and Ballard Soccer present Washington State E and D license clinics in Ballard this year. These courses teach you how to run a practice, a team and player safety. We expect all coaches to get their E license by U11 or their 2nd year of coaching (whichever is later). For coaches of select teams they need to have at least their D license. BYSC will reimburse coaches for their training. Please see the reimbursement policy here.

Coach Mentor

For the 2012 Recreation season in Seattle, we will offer a unique opportunity for Ballard coaches to be mentored by veteran Seattle United coaches throughout the course of the season. Recreational coaches will pair with a Seattle United coach in a similar age/gender group, or one with comparable experience in the case of U7-U9.

Coaches will have the opportunity to shadow Seattle United coaches at trainings and games throughout the fall, and in turn, the Mentors will attend participating Recreational coach's trainings during the course of the program. Coaches should communicate on a consistent basis to ask questions and look for guidance on session plans. More Infomation
